 Fuck can life be cruel. My mother-in-law got COVID 2.5 months ago. She was in the hospital and by week three they said there was nothing left that they could do because every treatment they had tried had failed.  She is 74 with pre-existing conditions (emphysema and COPD) and to top it off  she had developed pneumonia from the COVID. During those weeks in the hospital they had cathed her to make her more comfortable and everyday we called she was becoming to week to talk to us. They even tried the heated hi-flo o2 and nothing was working. The doctor said that her prognosis was getting worse and that we needed to start evaluating how we wanted to proceed since mom said she did not want a DNR or a DNI. She was also refusing the feeding tube. We knew at that point she would continue to decline because she was closing down and retreating into herself because in the state of Montana if you have COVID you may not have any visitors and as long as you have symptoms they will not retest you to

    This book broke me in all the right ways! I would like to add that this book does contain graphic scenes that might trigger some readers. But, it was still an incredible read! I became who I am today because of the fucked up shit I lived through and let me tell you, Amo Jones knows how to take some pretty dark shit and turn it into the thing that makes her female characters strong and resilient! The things these characters live through do not destroy them, but makes them something more... something to be feared, to be wanted, to be envied, to be loved, to be respected.....They are strong! Let me tell you, I could not put this series down. Holy Moley!!!!! This was my third bully romance that I have read and I have come to understand that I really do enjoy these types of stories. They have bad ass leading women characters that completely kick ass and are surrounded by gorgeous men that will legit burn the world down for them! The best part, these women can kick ass with the best of them, and destroy anything that hurts their family!!!  So... we bought a house!!!! Holy crap... life keeps running fast, and me with it. There truly is no slowing down. This had an incredible ending... no cliff hangers just a good old fashioned "love is triumphant" ending. I like that Amo added in mental health issues and concerns because as someone that has struggled with it, I appreciated that aspect of this book, even though this book is fiction, mental health issues are very real. It is because of that I will say that both these books in this duet should come with a slight trigger warning for those who have suffered.   Fucking Amo Jones!!!! (who is the best by the way) This story fucked me up.. legit almost in tears, i was freaking out, shit got real! The front cover says "Are you ready for the mind fuck of the year"... well, guess what? BE READY! Shit.. this one will be hard... but no spoilers If you pay attention to this story, you will see the signs, and I was semi-correct but yet, very fucking off. This is a really beautiful love story that has that mystery I need. The kind that has me wondering what's next and how are we getting from point A to Z.... What i love most about Amo, as with so much of her stories is that there is this growth that happens to the characters through coming to term with their past, no matter how fucked up or shady and this story is truly no different... What can I say... I am truly obsessed with Amo Jones and all that she creates. The woman has me hooked not just on her words but the characters she creates and she knocked it out of the park with this stand alone.  As always... no spoilers here You want love, self discovery, mystery, mafia... Oh yea and really good sex? This checks all of those boxes.  This story starts off by giving the reader a tad of a preview of what is to come via a prologue, which not going to lie, I had totally forgot about it, until the book was almost finished.... Like, how am I not paying attention to a story that I am adoring?!.... The story follows Beat, who has a bit of a past (but don't we all?) Then there is Manik... a rapper/Mafioso for the Russians.. Well... this book was interesting. They put it as a pitch black rating. So, I was intrigued. This was the first type of that rating that I have read. Now I have read the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by Ann Rice in my teen years and recently tried reading it again, but... that's for a different review.  As always... no spoilers here It is said of these characters that your not supposed to like them or want good things to happen to/for them, but I did.   This was a very sweet and intense love story. At first I thought it was going to be a softer love story, but oh it gets into it. I mean, it is Amo Jones.   As always... no spoilers The story is told primarily through Amethyst but we do get some view points from Maddox,  her love interest. Which in my opinion is always nice to know how other characters feel, especially ones that share love with the main character.   So, I like twisted tales and dark romance but this one definitely took it to a whole new level. This book comes with warnings, allowing the reader to understand what they are getting themselves into. This is not a BDSM "love" story.  No spoilers... I would like to say that it is in fact a story of two people who some might say are messed up but they are perfect together and for each other. So in a way it is a love story, but it has some dark scenes. As the authors put it, "[..] you will be thrown into the mind of a psychopath". This story comes from the perspective of both Evie and Ezra. Oh I am beyond excited that I had to go ahead and post this ASAP! I received my ARC copy this morning and I am beyond excited, elated, emotional, and forever grateful to be apart of Amo Jones Blogger Team.  Of course I am at work right now so I really even had a chance to get a little time with this book, but I can tell you right now it is going to be a ride of emotions for me. It is the final book in the first generation EKC, but Ruined Castles will be a continuation of Madison through her journal after she left Bishop. OHHHHH, BRING IT ON!!!! Oh yea, this will also be my first reaction review. Never any spoilers.... So the story starts off a couple days after Sancte Diaboli part 1 leaves off. Yet again, Amo has created another world within the EKC. On a whole new level. She really has created a masterpiece with an almost neoclassical setting where Saint finds herself. BUT, as always, no spoilers here (I do not want to ruin this for anyone) but it is a beautiful setting. I
